will wonders never cease?
have you wondered…how people with disabilities go about with their daily lives? we, who are blessed with fully-functional bodies tend to take things for granted. what would happen to us should we ever…say…lose our sight? *touch wood*
i've always marveled at how people with disabilities cope. i guess those who’ve been born like that will have accepted their situation long ago, but what about those who only recently became disabled? would they place the blame on themselves? on whoever/whatever that caused them to become disabled? on God?
what prompted me to ask this was when a reader came to my office to collect a pair of free movie passes. i wasn’t aware that he was deaf until i wanted to say something and he indicated that he couldn’t hear, so i wrote down what i wanted to say. it got me asking later on…would he be able to enjoy the movie just by watching and reading subtitles? (not that i mean to demean him, i just can’t imagine how a person can enjoy watching a movie without music or spoken dialogue). will he be able to enjoy the pleasures of pop music or the pitter-patter of rain?
then, of course, there was this idiot whom i came across during one of my journeys home. this guy was seriously asking for it…waiting for an accident to happen and the regrets that came with it. this idiot was actually had his earphones plugged in, while reading a book, while walking on the road! i mean…come on! it’s already dangerous enough to listen to music while walking on busy roads, this guy was actually reading! like hello? couldn't he do it at home???
*sigh*
had a crap day at office yesterday. boss is as inconsiderate and idiotic as ever. *ugh* so what else is new?
he sent me off to cover an axn challenge event in ulu klang, near the national zoo. i'd already emailed him beforehand that if he wanted me to cover the event, i couldn’t come for the kao biore briefing he wanted to have that day. it’s either he’s stupid or illiterate. coz my boss called me halfway thru the event to tell me to come back to the office! what for? the kao biore briefing! arrrrgggghhh!
the worst part was that it wasn’t a very important briefing for me, yet i wasted my time and energy just to get back to the office! was ready to collapse by the time i got home. my eyes are about to shut anytime soon….zzz…

U got a good question there. Truth be told; a movie wouldn't be much of a multimedia experience if audio wasn't a part of whole package. But I believe those with disabilities have always managed to cope. For all we know, they could far appreciate what the other four senses have to offer better than any of us ever will.
Wow, the more I get know ur boss through your eyes, the more I shrug at the idea of starting a business and being like him o_0 Hang in there yo! He'll wise up once rumours start circulating around the office :p
