the best things in life

i love nice surprises. don't you? especially those that come totally out of the blue...it can just cheer you up and make your day!

it was mum's birthday a couple of days ago. spent some time beforehand discussing with my sis what we should get her. she came up with the brilliant idea of getting mum a bunch of flowers. so i set about...looking for a florist and their floral arrangement samples. chose a beautiful bouquet of multicoloured roses, set in a basket arrangement. also got the florist to deliver the flowers at mum's school at a specific time.

mum was really delighted to receive her flowers. sis even called all the way from canada to wish mum happy birthday! then there was the very public announcement of her birthday over the school's PA system and one of her classes singing her a birthday song (both which must've been kinda embarassing :p) definitely a birthday to remember!

gosh...when was the last time i had a pleasant surprise? hmm...uh...erm...oh, i know! it was a birthday card that i received one week after my birthday! it was totally unexpected coz the senders were my sister's friends. i was just expecting a birthday greeting from them only...not a card. so sue anne and evelyn, thanks for making my day! :)
