books, glorious books!

ouch! i've been book-tagged by noie. hehe :p nah...it's nothing painful. just a lil post on one of my treasures - books, and my numero uno hobby - reading!

note: i was tagged by noie awhile back but only remembered to update this post now. lalala *innocent look*

1. total number of books i own: er...no idea. loads & loads of them? you're talking about someone who loves books and has been brought up reading them since she was young :D my collection ranges from the harry potter series (the 6 books printed so far), love stories series (read them during secondary school days), art & design books (darn expensive & collecting dust) and chic lit (lighthearted-romance-fiction type books). not counting the odd comic books, classic literature and movie-related guidebooks.

2. the last book i bought: beautified, by kyan douglas (my favourite queer eye for the straight eye guy!). it's got fantastic tips for ladies, especially for first-timers like me, on topics like skincare, makeup, haircare, dieting, grooming, exercise...and more! must find the time to read it soon!

3. the last book i read: harry potter & the half blood prince, by j.k. rowling. am currently reading the chronicles of narnia series, by c.s. lewis. am now at book #2, titled the lion, the witch & the wardrobe...and trying to read all 7 books in the set before the movie is released in december :)

4. five books that mean a lot to me:

• harry potter, by j.k. rowling. by that i mean the complete series (book 1 to 6) plus the harry potter schoolbooks set (fantastic beasts & where to find them and quidditch through the ages), in the latter 2 books, you actually get to read the books that harry reads at hogwarts...complete with scribblings and doodles...just like normal schoolchildren's books!
• queer eye for the straight guy: the fab 5's guide to looking better, cooking better, dressing better, behaving better and living better, by ted allen, kyan douglas, thom filicia, carson kressley, jai rodriguez. the fab 5 are just sooo funny and they dish out grooming advice like there's no tomorrow! they're doing a great job educating guys (and girls!) about male grooming...so what's not to like about them?
• the lord of the rings: the art of the fellowship of the ring, by gary russell. my first movie-related guidebook, and among the 4 that i have on LOTR. alan lee's illustrations are just gorgeous and all the pictures in this book are simply awesome!
• star wars: the new essential guide to characters, by daniel wallace. it's a birthday gift from jive...and yet another book i haven't read. hahaha! gee...i seem to have a lot of books i haven't read yet. lucky me! :D
• usborne puzzle adventure series, by various authors. i can never get tired reading & re-reading this whole range of books. the storyline is interesting, and the illustrations are wonderful! in fact...i love the majority of books published by usborne!
