more jobs in creative fields by 2012...in singapore :p
read an article about that in today's star paper:
young people with the flair for and interest in the arts, media and design can look forward to more jobs in these fields by 2012. this is a result of a plan by the ministry of information, communications and the arts (mita) to double the creative industries' gross domestic product contribution to 6% over the next eight years. according to mita, its efforts in the creative sectors as well as on heritage programmes, libraries, public communications and infocomms would not only feed the economy but also “enhance singapore's social well-being, resilience and cultural roots". according to its minister, mita's initiatives would spark off “many more opportunities for people with a creative bent and creative capabilities”.
darn...will that happen to malaysia anytime soon...or even by 2012? it'd be great if we were to be given such opportunities. wider exposure, higher chance to learn and create, more opportunities to express ourselves...even the freedom to create advertisements that aren't restricted by cultural sensitivities, political issues...and so much more! maybe my fellow fcm friends should migrate over to singapore eh? :p
on a lighter note...i managed to catch "house of flying daggers" with a few of my friends at gsc midvalley yesterday. it was aesthetically beautiful...great shots, beautiful sceneries, good-looking actors (takeshi!!! :D:D:D) but the storyline was bad! ugh...there were some loopholes...like how is a blind girl able to run through a forest without any aid and why one of the main characters never seems to die even though she's been stabbed in the chest with a dagger??? i'd rather watch "hero" any day over this silly movie. at least, even though there were some twists in the movie plot, it still made sense!

Why? Why? Why? o_0 Zhang Yi Mou no BAKA!! Can't believe we wasted 10 bucks for the brain damage >.< Thank heavens they spared our eyes and for god's sake, can they NOT give Zhang Zi Yi a slutty character to act out?? well u and the girls had Takeshi Kaneshiro to drool over ^^;; On the bright side, at least most of us got together.
