free makeover?
guess what? i'd won a free makeover, sponsored by maybelline new york! this pleasant surprise awaited me after i got home yesterday from a not-so-productive day at work :p i'd entered the contest just to test my luck. was interested to get a free makeover…so i thought…why not? just submit my entry (which makeup item can’t i live without and why?) and try my luck.. woo hoo! lady luck was smiling on me this time and i was one of the lucky 50 people selected for a free maybelline makeover, plus get a maybelline hamper worth $100!
managed to get cow to accompany me for the makeover. noie will probably join us too. we can have a good laugh during the makeover – my first time having one, my awkwardness with makeup items and me wondering what on earth is the makeup artiste doing!! hahaha! thank goodness cow will be there to be my “guide” coz she’s definitely more familiar with makeup stuff than me :D must remember to bring a camera too *laughs*
this is so funny. imagine the irony as i was talking to jive a few days ago about this. we'd passed by a (l’oreal?) booth having some makeover promotion too. told him that i wouldn’t spend…say $150 or $200…for a makeover (even though it’s usually redeemed by purchasing an equal amount of that brand’s makeup items and comes with a nice photo). however, i wouldn’t hesitate to fork out that much money for a good book! i'm sure a few of my good friends would rather spend that much on books/dvds rather than makeup/food items. right? *hint hint wink wink* hahaha
speaking of books…i had a great time at the times warehouse sale last weekend! books were sold at pretty reasonable prices and in good condition; some were quite recent titles too! here’s what i'll be burying my nose in over the next few months:

- the chronicles of narnia (by c. s. lewis; $78 for complete set of 7 books! wowee!)
- the little prince (by antoine de saint-exupery; $9 only!)
- memoirs of a geisha (by arthur golden)
- catch-22 (by joseph heller)
- the boy next door (by meg cabot)
- in her shoes (by jennifer weiner)
thanks, mum, for indulging me by getting those books! the mission is on to enrich myself on the inside…and beautify myself on the outside! *giggles*
psst...i'm creating "history" today...i'm wearing a dress to office! hahaha! why? coz that dress has been sitting in my cupboard for about a year. so thought i'd better wear it before it starts collecting one thiiick layer of dust. must "behave" more ladylike today. kekeke. a truly historical day in the life of lil ol' me!
