medical test

my friends have been hinting at me to update my blog. *poke poke* so here's a quick update from me on this lovely saturday where i have to spend half my day working at the office. *sigh*

got back my medical test results a week ago. upon jive's recommendation, i went for to the clinic for a health check. the conversation between the doctor and me was quite funny too.

me: hi doctor! i'm here for a medical checkup
doc: ok. where's your form? the medical form from your university or something
me: no no. this is not for university. i'm working d. i'm here for a complete medical checkup.
doc: oh, ok. did u eat or drink anything before you came to the clinic?
me: nope. just water
doc: u sure? not even a cup of milo?
me: yeah, sure. my friends told me that my body system has to be "clean" before coming for medical checkup.
doc: ok. (proceeds to get my blood & urine sample, then explain what the medical test will be about)

the doctor was nice enough to charge me at a discounted price. so i paid $145 instead of the standard $170. here's a quick summary of my medical results:
  • blood group: O+ (this may sound stupid...but i've never known my blood group till now. haha)
  • cholesterol level: OK. good cholesterol and bad cholesterol are at safe levels
  • blood level: OK
  • liver function: OK
  • cancer risk: low
  • diabetes risk: low
  • HIV test: negative
  • hepatitis A and B test: non-reactive (means that i don't have proper hepatitis A and B immunization and risk getting infected. oops :p )

to sum it up, my health is ok. no major risks...but i should still watch my diet and activities. doctor recommended that i get my hepatitis A and B immunization. i thought...heck...why not? since i'm already at the clinic...might as well get my shots. so took my hepatitis B shot that day. it wasn't too painful. like antbite...but my shoulder was very stiff the next few days after getting that shot. have to go for 2 follow-up shots next month and 6 months later @.@

what was a lil painful was the cost of immunization. one hepatitis B shot is $35. $35 x 3 shots = $105. one hepatitis A shot is $100. $100 x 2 shots = $200. oh well...might as well burn some extra cash on health rather than regret anything later ;) besides, i'll be claiming most of my medical bills under company claims. wahahaha. even if i get to claim only half of my medical claims, it's better than nothing :D

whoops. better get back to work. did i mention that my current job scope has expanded to looking for and interviewing designers for the company? (we currently don't have any in-house designers. have to outsource certain projects to freelancers.) ugh. that is on top of the pile of work i already have to do!

god help me! *prays hard*
