freaked out moment

silly habit of mine. was rubbing my eye while working at the pc yesterday...probably coz tired or had dirt in my eye...when the unexpected happened (or was it expected? since it's happened to me before). my vision became blur and i know i'd lost my contact lens!

quickly ran to the toilet to do some damage control. poked and prodded into my eye...but couldn't find the darn contact lens! poked and prodded even further into my eyeball...thought it was stuck somewhere inside...but still couldn't find. ended up going to the toilet 3 times to look for the darn thing, but no success. so i thought it'd fallen off somewhere. continued working with one contact lens on and the other eye blur...until i really couldn't bear it...took off the other contact lens and worked half-blind @.@

my colleague advised me to go see the doctor...to be really sure that the contact lens wasn't still in my eye. and so i did go see the doctor after work...with much trepidation. the doctor confirmed my worst fears when he acknowledged the possibility of the contact lens still being inside my eye! he proceeded to put on his gloves and check my eye. couldn't find it initially...then got the nurse to assist him while he checked further with a cottonbud. thankfully, he managed to find it! told the doctor to throw the (darn) contact lens away!

moral of the story? never ever rub my eyes again! that ONE experience is enough to scare me a lifetime. next time...anyone who catches me rubbing my eye...pls give me a good smack as a reminder k? :p
