this cd has been plugged into in my cd player the past few days. got it from the people at musiccanteen...free! haha. the powers of being the media. *grins*

i highly recommend this album for those looking for a christmas album with a malaysian twist...or a compilation album featuring some of malaysia's brightest talents. titled "a musiccanteen christmas", this album features 16 christmas tunes done by malaysian musicians. some songs are christmas tunes that have been jazzed up...rocked up...and sung in a different way. others are original tracks written by the artists themselves. my personal favourites are:

• "little drummer boy" by edge of fire
• "have yourself a merry little christmas" by juwita suwito
• "christmas morning" by one buck short

in fact, i just got back from an interview with naked breed, who contributed the song "carol of the bells" for this album. it was a quick & short interview; partly because justin (naked breed's singer/songwriter) had to leave for an appointment & party because i was late. hahaha. the interview was originally scheduled for 5pm, then brought forward to 4pm. but me being blur...or forgetful...i kept thinking i had to be there by 5pm! silly me.

"a musiccanteen christmas" is out at most good record stores now. the cd is priced at rm29.90 while the cassette retails at rm15.90. alternatively, you could try to win a copy via the magazine i write for. we'll be giving out 10 copies in the december 2005 issue, courtesy of musiccanteen.
